Admission

Eligibility

  1. Be enrolled in a Region 2 public school
  2. Be in recovery for alcohol or substance use disorder
  3. Have the recommendation of a medical provider

Application

Attendance at Harbor Hope Center is voluntary; students are neither assigned nor compelled. For interested students in recovery, a comprehensive application process includes a review of defined entry criteria, application, interviews with student and family, review of student records, and the recommendation of a medical provider. Enrollment

Harbor Hope students remain enrolled in the home school division, who maintain official records of attendance, credits, final grades, testing, health records, and the cumulative record. Students are concurrently enrolled in Harbor Hope Center; Harbor Hope Center serves as a liaison to the home school during concurrent enrollment. As Harbor Hope Center is a school of choice, students who demonstrate poor academic, disciplinary, or uncooperative or disruptive behaviors will have enrollment in the center revoked at the program coordinator’s discretion. No appeals will be available.

Mandatory Drug Testing

HHC is a school of choice. As a condition of continued enrollment, students at Harbor Hope Center must participate in mandatory drug testing performed by HHC trained staff. Drug and alcohol testing will be based on a keystone of the Association of Recovery Schools (ARS) guidance of recovery as nonlinear.
